Pantograph door hinge
Lifts the door up to 4 inches before it swings, so it clears the jamb and opens out of the walkway instead of into it.
A modern door opening for any cabin
A standard hinge swings the door across the walkway and drags it past the jamb. The pantograph raises the door first, then carries it out and around, so it clears the jamb and parks out of the way.

Clears the jamb
The door lifts before it moves sideways, so the bottom edge never catches the jamb or the threshold.
Frees the walkway
The door swings out and parks clear instead of blocking the companionway.
Built for retrofits
Brings an older boat's cabin door up to a modern opening without rebuilding the bulkhead.
